Mrs. Martha Brewer Gogue, 82, died Thursday night (March 8, 2007) at her residence after a short illness.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Waycross. She was the owner of Rosedale Florist for 38 years and a member of Winona Park United Methodist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Samuel Frank Brewer and Lillie Lowe Brewer. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Edwin “Bubby” Brewer; and two sisters, Evelyn B. Harris and Helen B. Weaver.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, M. J. Gogue of Waycross; a son, Jay Gogue (wife Susie) of Houston, TX; a daughter, Sharon Barnett (husband Sam) of Iota, LA; five grandchildren, Jason Gogue, Alison Gogue, Barrett Gogue, Jennifer Barnett and Jessica Barnett; two great grandchildren, Maddy and Jack; a brother-in-law, Jim Weaver; and many loving nieces and their families.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday (March 11, 2007) at Winona Park United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at Music Funeral Home.
