Mrs. Peggy Louise Jones, 60, died Wednesday (January 27, 2010) at Kindred Hospital North Florida in Green Cove Springs, FL following a brief illness.
She was a native of Douglas but had lived most of her life in Waycross. She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Walter Jones; her parents Glyndon Crews and Mary Elizabeth Thomas Culpepper; and a brother, Joel Stephens.
She was a member of Hebardville Baptist Church and had been a waitress at Captain Joes, Huddle House, Tuffy's and Shoney's.
Survivors include her son, Kaleb Jones (wife Elizabeth) of Valdosta; three grandchildren, Earl Driggers, III, Americus Driggers and Braeden Jones; a sister, Dorothy Rainer of Cuba, AL; two brothers, Mike Stephens of Wrens, GA, Danny Stephens of Mobile, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday (January 30, 2010) at Hebardville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home Friday night from 6 until 8.
