Mr. Milton A. Thomas, Sr., 58, died Sunday afternoon (January 31, 2010) at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL after an extended illness.

He was a native of Homerville, but he has lived most of his life in Millwood. He was employed as a car salesman for 33 years, and he worked for most of the car dealerships in South Georgia. He also attended Mt. Green Church of God of Prophecy.

He is the son of the late Emmett Thomas and Grace Bennett Thomas. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Hue Thomas and Edward Thomas, Sr.

Survivors include his former wife, Barbara O'Berry Thomas of Waycross; one daughter, Angie Simmons (husband Mickey) of Millwood; four sons, Al Thomas, Jr. (wife Amanda) of Waycross, Scott Thomas of Millwood, Jason Thomas (wife Heather) of Waycross, and Daniel Thomas of Fernandina Beach, FL; six grandchildren, Hanna and Milee Simmons, Micah Thomas, Cami Morris, Rhyan and Nate Thomas; two sisters, Sadie Revels (husband Larry) of Millwood, and Lynn Morgan (late husband David, Jr.) of Millwood; two sister-in-laws, Shirley Thomas and Virginia Thomas both of Millwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday (February 3, 2010) at Mt. Green Church of God of Prophecy in Millwood. Burial will follow in Mt. Green Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church until time of the service.

Music Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
