Mr. Robert Frank Taylor, 83, died Thursday (February 4, 2010) at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL following an extended illness. He was a native of Rocky Mount, NC. He was son of the late Samuel M. Taylor and Zettie Wallace Taylor. He retired from CSX Railroad in Waycross and Jacksonville after 40 years of service. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL and served in the United States Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Hortense Campbell Taylor of Jacksonville, FL; six daughters, Trudy Gardner (husband Rick) of St. Augustine, FL, Frances Owens (husband Mackie) of Panama City, FL, Nancy Perry (husband James), Susan Hohenstein (husband Bill), and Peggy Wall (husband Bill) all of Blackshear, Kay Rogers (husband Winston) of Jacksonville, FL; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Daughtridge of Rocky Mount, NC; a brother-in-law, Marshall Campbell (wife Mary Ann) of Travelers Rest, SC; four nieces; and one nephew. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (February 8, 2010) at First Baptist Church Hobson Auditorium in Downtown Jacksonville, FL. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 until 11. A subsequent service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday at Music Funeral Home Chapel, Waycross, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 3 until 4. Burial, with military honors, will be held in Oakland Cemetery.
